I live in Ballard, a wonderful neighborhood in the City of Seattle.  I find its population density to be exactly what fits my sensibility: not too crowded, not overly sprawling,  just the optimum use of land.  It also feels to me that it has the right ratio of vegetation to constructions and feels like an urban garden.

I purchased my home here in 2007, pretty much at the top of the real estate bubble.  That doesn't really matter though because I love my house; it makes me happy every day.
